Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack said young voters are a ‘big problem’ in the upcoming federal election.

The comments follow new data released last week by the Australian Electoral Commission showing that 88.8 per cent of 18 to 24-year-olds are enrolled to vote in the May 18 election.

The Deputy Prime Minister said the large number of first-time young voters is a big problem in the election because many are unaware of how privileged they are.
