Ongoing errors in opinion polling has created a ‘parallel universe’ in Australian politics according to experts.
Labor Party veteran pollster John Utting says Malcolm Turnbull might still be prime minister if Labor hadn’t been favoured so far ahead in the polls.
Mr Utting says they would randomly call landlines in the past, but a move to online polling has made assessing public opinion more difficult.
