The disused Anglesea coal mine in Victoria could be set to be turned into a new Australian eco-tourism attraction.

Representatives from UK-based Charity, Eden Project are sharing their vision for the rehabilitation of the barren industrial site with locals, saying the project is a chance to transform a “formerly poisonous mine” into something beautiful.

Eden Project’s $150 million concept plan for the open cut coal mine would see the establishment of a 100-hectare lake and an education centre, including physical and virtual reality exhibitions, to teach visitors about the natural world.
