Virgin Australia is unlikely to make a last-ditch attempt to ground a commercial tie-up between Qantas and American Airlines.
The US Department of Transportation approved the partnership this week, allowing the two carriers to run a combined business on the trans-Pacific.
The joint venture will go ahead unless Virgin or other airlines lodge an objection to the partnership before June 17.
