The Queensland government has confirmed a new multi-million dollar ambulance station will be built in Ormeau.

Health Minister and Ambulance Services Minister, Steven Miles, says the facility will be built on Peachey Road, close to industrial areas, which will allow for future expansion and provide access to the M1.

Mr Miles says the population in the region is expected to increase by 124 per cent between 2016 and 2036, and he wants to ensure the community’s expectations are met during a medical emergency.
