Hundreds of Queenslanders were left in shock after a meteor lit up the night sky and created a sonic boom while hurtling towards Earth.
Residents from Blackwater in central Queensland to Tweed Heads in northern New South Wales took to social media to discuss the rare sight.
Witnesses say the meteor landing sounded like an “explosion” and felt like an “earthquake”.
