Climate experts have labelled Australia’s stance on renewables as a ‘policy vacuum’ which is costing Australia jobs and impacting the economy.
Martin Rice, head of research for the Climate Council, warned that Australia’s reliance on coal is causing Australia to fall behind other countries and could cost the economy, as renewables are cheaper.
Rice says Australia’s carbon-based economy will kill the Great Barrier Reef, threatening tourism jobs.
