Speaking at the 2019 Asia Pacific Cities Summit in Brisbane yesterday, the Cohort of Lord Mayors said homelessness and rough sleepers is the 'number one issue' on their agenda.
The spike in the highest number of homeless in urban areas was between 2001 and 2016 when it went from 48 per cent to 63 per cent.
Federal Assistant Housing Minister, Luke Howarth, was put on notice yesterday about the seriousness of this homelessness problem.
