New South Wales Liberal Parliamentarian, Andrew Bragg, has proposed that superannuation should not be compulsory for low-income earners.

Senator Bragg suggested offering an option for Australians to get a refund of super funds when filling out their tax-return.

Bragg says this change will also benefit the Federal Government as, if Australians were able to keep the cash, they would be taxed at a higher rate as opposed to the lower tax rate of superannuation.
