Approximately 100 guests, police and staff at O'Reilly's Guest House on the Gold Coast were evacuated on Monday evening, mere hours after they took shelter there from the Sarabah bushfire.
The group has now been sheltered at another evacuation centre close by, however 73 fires were reported to be burning from the Southeast corner to the Cairns hinterland.
So far there have been zero fatalities, but 57 homes and properties have faced damage or have been burnt down since last Thursday- with conditions being declared as volatile until winds and temperatures are predicted to drop this Wednesday.
New South Wales fire crews and federal defence personnel are seeking to deploy resources to aid Queensland in this bushfire crisis.
