Climate activists are encouraging students to take time off school ahead of tomorrow’s climate strike at Treasury Gardens in Melbourne.
The strike follows a similar event in March, but with almost six months in between strikes, some climate activists are growing impatient with the slow pace of the movement.
A spokesperson for the Blockade IMARC Alliance says the climate crisis is not imminent, but that it has already begun.
“A new generation of climate rebels is interested in learning radical skills and tactics. We haven’t seen this level of radicalism and initiative from young people in a long time,” the spokesperson said.
