More than a thousand young musicians will attend the biggest State Honours Ensemble Program in history at the Queensland Conservatorium this weekend.
Professor Gemma Carey, Acting Director of the Queensland Conservatorium, said "this is the largest ever cohort with many more nominations received from schools than they were able to accommodate."
High school students from around the country will travel to Brisbane for four days of intensive rehearsals, tutorials and concerts as part of the program.
