Sleep apnoea technology is currently being trialled to help people protect their mental and physical health with wireless implant that stimulates the tongue to contract and open airways.
Dr Stuat Mackay, ENT surgeon and Clinical Professor at Wollongong University said “It’s got a small implantable component that is put through an incision under the chin.”
Sleep apnoea can cause people to stop breathing in their sleep, resulting in fatigue and more vulnerable to health issues.
