Two sunken Japanese World War II warships have been discovered deep in the Pacific Ocean

Vulcan Inc's director of undersea operations Rob Kraft and Heritage Command historian Frank Thompson reviewed the high-frequency sonar images of the warship and concluded that it’s dimension and location were identical with aircraft carrier Akagi, which was sunk in the Battle of Midway in 1942.

So far, three lost Japanese vessels have been found as part of the search; two Japanese and two Americans vessels, from the air and sea battle, remain to be found.
