Queensland Shadow Racing Minister John-Paul Langbroek, has condemned the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission for failing to take action on complaints, after the State Government announced an inquiry into the statutory body.

The Commission was established by the State Government in 2016, but failed to take action on five separate complaints about Caboolture abattoir, Meramist, which hosted the abuse and slaughter of several former racehorses, as revealed by the ABC this week.

Mr Langbroek said the inquiry needed to explain why the commission failed its own animal welfare objectives.
