The RACQ says Petrol prices in Brisbane are still the highest of capital cities.

The recent price hike is being blamed on a shorter price-cycle, which saw October’s average fuel price for regular unleaded at 154.9 ($1.54) a litre.

Motorists are recommended to shop around before filling up, with the largest retailers usually the first to put up prices while many independent fuel stations keep their prices lower for longer.

The RACQ says there has been a significant change in fuel cycles since the Queensland Government introduced its mandatory fuel price reporting scheme.
