The Brisbane City Council has proposed 5 new bridges for the city but their efforts to complete the Kingsford Smith Drive upgrade have casted doubt over their plan.
The Lord Mayor says the bridges will be green, including a proposed Kangaroo Point pedestrian bridge between Thornton St and Edward St in the city.
Labor’s Patrick Condren has slammed the announcement after Kingsford Smith was delayed by a year and costs blew out by at least $47 million.
Two West End bridges, one from Toowong and the other from St Lucia, will be for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
