An investigation run by the Federal Department of Health issued a non-compliance notice to the Bayside Aged Care Facility in Bonnells Bay, as it was seen to not meet the standard protocols for health, personal, clinical care, and hygiene.
This followed an audit report by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, which found that residents' right to respectful care was being compromised by staff breaches in privacy and dignity.
The facility has until the 2nd of December to deliver improvements, with its Chief Operating Officer Glen Hurley, stating that immediate steps and investigations were taken to address the Commission's specific concerns.
