A burst pipe in Logan’s Princess St at Marsden has been leaking for more than two weeks in the drought-stricken area.

The leak, reported to council on the 11 November, was declared ‘non-urgent’ and a water operations team was sent in the following day to fix the leak.

Local resident Errolyn McKenna said that the next day, the original leak was getting worse with water seeping around the concrete and into the gutter and down the drain.

“Wasting water by letting it run down the gutter into the drain, doesn’t rate. Tell that to the farmers,” Ms McKenna said.

The footpath is currently cordoned off while officers are working on fixing the water pipe.
