Sony Pictures presents the second installment to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) with Jumanji: The Next Level (2019). In Cinemas December 26th, this film is the perfect way to kick off your Christmas holidays with an action-packed adventure starring Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas. This time around we are also joined by a few more familiar faces including AwkwafinaDanny DeVito and Danny Glover.

Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) starts off with the protagonist ‘Spencer’, played by Alex Wolff, struggling to find his way through New York City and keep a long-term relationship going at the same time. ‘Eddie’, played by DeVito, makes an appearance in the film and plays a supportive Grandfather to Spencer. When discussing relationship problems with his Grandfather, Spencer comes to a realisation that he must return to the game that brought all his friends together in the first place, and this is where the film begins.

When ‘Fridge’, played by Ser'Darius Blain, ‘Bethany’, played by Madison Iseman, and ‘Martha’, played by Morgan Turner, realise that Spencer is missing, they rock up at his house to find Eddie reluctantly having coffee with unexpected visitor ‘Milo’, played by Danny Glover, and their friend nowhere in sight. Martha begins to look around and downstairs, where she notices the old Jumanji game has been brought out of its box. The old team start to band together as they realise what they must do to get their friend back.

Join this thrilling adventure with the old gang from Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) but not without a twist as DeVito and Glover get pulled into the mix as well. Eddie had not wanted to speak to Milo ever since they had to give up their restaurant. Interestingly enough, Milo thought it would be a good time to invite himself for coffee on the same day he accidentally gets sucked into a video game! Whilst it took some time to have this secondary plotline grow on me, it definitely paid off in the later stages, especially with the commentary around growing old.

Everything is not as it seems with this second installment and there are a lot of challenges the team must face which includes two clueless, older folk (DeVito, Glover) that have hilariously joined the party and a whole lot of other forces threatening to steal the very life force of Jumanji. With plenty of life threatening moments along the way, join this gang of teenagers (as well as a couple of oldies) for the ride of a lifetime. You will be surprised, enthralled and get to see Jumanji like you never have before. The final moments of Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) even leave room for a third installment. Don’t miss out on this family, feel-good flick this Boxing Day.
