A $180000 Industry Research Fellowship has been given to Central Queensland Dr Zhenlin Wang for his work using machine vision to increase efficiency of mango harvesting.
“China, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore love Queensland mangoes and this project will support export marketing,” says Minister for Innovation and Tourism Industry Development Kate Jones.
Queensland and the Northern Territory produce the most mangoes in the country, turning an annual profit of 180 million dollars.
