The New South Wales Rural Fire Service is marking its first day with no fires in 240 days with a post on social media yesterday.

New South Wales Rural Fire Service Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons says the change in weather is ‘great’ for farmers, rural and regional communities, as well as fire fighters still working on fires in South East NSW.

Approximately, 2,400 homes were destroyed and 25 lives lost in this bushfire season.
