Prime Minister Scott Morrison says the government is working on preparing Indigenous communities for a potential coronavirus outbreak.

The Prime Minister says it is essential to introduce and apply measures that ensure communities are educated on how to reduce the possibility of an outbreak.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer Dawn Casey for the NACCHO says Indigenous people are two point three (2.3) times more likely to suffer from disease compared to other populations.

Restricting access to communities is one way locals are implementing infection control measures.
