The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Yvette D’Ath, says a new streamlined small claims process will be introduced to support Queensland’s 437 000 underpaid workers.
"Almost half of workers who experience wage theft do not try to recover owed monies because the process is complicated and time-consuming," says Ms. D'ath.
“The first and main priority is to repay workers what is owed to them”.
