The Bureau of Meteorology has released a statement saying that there is an “increasing chance” of a tropical cyclone developing in the Coral Sea off Queensland late this week.

As they monitor a trough over the Gulf of Carpentaria, The Bureau of Meteorology official website states it is more likely to develop into the weekend.

Some modelling proposes that the system could continue moving towards the coast or the south though that scenario is improbable and it is most likely to move away from the coast.
