The Federal Government has just announced a $17.6 billion economic stimulus package.

The funds come amid fears the economy could slide into a recession.

Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, said the package is designed to provide immediate stimulus to the economy.

It will include tax-relief for small business and could include one-off cash payments for welfare recipients.

Calls for casual workers to be paid sick leave have, however, been dismissed by Finance Minister, Mathias Cormann, who says the government would not “fundamentally change the industrial relations system”.
