A Big W store in Calamvale, has closed its doors effective immediately, in yet another hit to Australia's struggling retail industry, leaving 70 staff members to be transferred or announced redundant.
In a statement released by the company, they said the decision was not related to the current pandemic and added the immediate nature of the closure related to the store’s terms of the lease.
The store one of thirty closures that will result from their owners’, Woolworths, ongoing review of performance rates at various Big W locations.
