Online scammers are targeting Australian farmers by posting advertisements offering machinery for a cheaper price.
A number of fake websites have been closed down, but farmers are being warned scammers are still operating across various advertising platforms including reputable online trading websites.
The Department of Consumer Protection Western Australia says some residents have recently lost up to $45,000 through fraudulent machinery ads.
