Efforts to enforce strict coronavirus lockdown measures in the Indian city of Ahmedabad have been met with violence from residents.
Ahmedabad authorities have implemented tighter restrictions than those in place nationwide, ordering all shops to shut until May 15th, except those selling milk and medicine.
Angry and agitated locals responded to the measures by throwing stones at police, who fired tear gas back at the crowd to disperse them.
