Victoria Police have arrested ten people after more than 100 protesters turned out on the steps of Victoria’s parliament on Sunday to demonstrate their opposition to the Coronavirus lockdown restrictions.

Footage from the protest shows numerous confrontations between police and protesters with three people charged for assaulting a police officer and another being charged for allegedly throwing a bottle at police.

Victorian health minister, Jenny Mikakos, has labelled the protest as “very disappointing'' with police saying the demonstration was a direct violation of the Chief Health Officer’s advice.
