Homes and businesses have been damaged as ex-tropical cyclone Mangga hit the coast of Western Australia on Sunday.

The storm impacted electricity supply to more than 50,000 properties in the state as winds of more than 100 kilometres per hour were recorded in Perth, Geraldton and Dunsborough.

Bureau of Meteorology manager in Western Australia, James Ashley, says the weather formation was “dynamic and complex” after the ex-cyclone interacted with a cold front.
