New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has postponed the election by four weeks due to Auckland’s COVID 19 outbreak.

The election that was due to commence on 19th September has now been pushed back to 17th October, as the country faces its first case of coronavirus in over 100 days.

Mrs Arden states she wants to ensure New Zealand has a well-run election that gives voters all the information they need and delivers certainty for the future.
