In local news, Geoscience Australia has identified two resource corridors throughout mainland Australia and a large part of Queensland that have the potential to supply new energy, minerals, and groundwater resources.
Andrew Heap, the chief at Geoscience Australia of the Minerals, Energy and Groundwater division, believes with the pre-existing data and information already possessed, both corridors have potential for new discoveries of groundwater, conventional and unconventional oil and gas, plus a wide range of minerals including gold, base metals and critical minerals.
