Yesterday morning, protesters against the detention of 120 asylum seekers gathered at Parliament House. The latest in a series of many ongoing protests against the Australian Government's decision to detain refugees at a Kangaroo Point hotel.

They began the protest at Parliament House before walking though George and Adelaide streets and ended at the Department of Immigration.

The detainees have had much less freedom to move since the Coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, some of the immediate concerns are for them to be allowed to exercise outdoors.

Greens councillor Jonathan Shree says the facility is “less like a hotel and more of a prison.”
