Joe Biden has been officially nominated as the US Democratic presidential candidate following the commencement of the party’s national convention in Milwaukee.
Mr Biden’s appointment was accompanied by strong endorsements from former US presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, with Mr Clinton describing the current administration as chaotic.
Former first lady Michelle Obama also voiced her support of Mr Biden, and Democratic party members are describing this election as arguably the most important in the nation’s modern history.
