The Labor government has retained power in the Northern Territory, with the opposition Country Liberal Party conceding defeat. The Michael Gunner led party will retain a majority government after early results confirmed they will hold at least 13 seats in the 25-member assembly. A formal declaration of the victory is scheduled for September 7, with a number of postal votes still yet to arrive.
