A federal parliamentary inquiry into the issue of food security for remote and Indigenous communities will investigate and compare the prices of food to other districts.
The Indigenous community of Doomadgee have limited options when buying food as the prices for essential items can be up to triple that of a regular store.
Consumer protection laws and regulators will be assessed, and the hearing will continue this week before submitting its findings to the Federal Government on October 30th.
