Doctors in Queensland hospitals have been left with no supplies after the bungled rollout of an online ordering system.

An investigation by the Auditor-General found the software used to order and pay for essential medical supplies had significant issues and staff did not know how to use it.

The report stated that Queensland Health had underestimated the system’s failures since it was switched in August 2019 and were unaware of the compounding impact they would have on patient care.
