Three hundred and eighty pilot whales have died after more than four hundred and fifty became stranded on Tasmania’s West Coast earlier this week.
Rescue crews managed to successfully save 50 whales but 30 are still beached with efforts being concentrated on whales assessed as having the best chance of survival.
The event is now the largest of its kind in Australia's recorded history.
