China’s new TV drama ‘Heroes in Harm’s Way’ based on real events about frontline workers during the pandemic has been criticised for its depiction of women.
The TV drama was marketed as highlighting the roles of female frontline workers, however the majority of female characters are shown as junior and subservient to men.
Despite the extensive publicity and fanfare surrounding the show, the pilot episode was only rated two point four out of ten by film critics.
