Dreamworld’s 3.6 million dollar fine over the deaths of four patrons has been called “small” compared to other corporate penalties.

Ardent Leisure was fined on Monday over the deaths of four patrons killed on a ride in 2016.

Emeritus Professor of Law Rick Sarre says the fine is small compared to Westpac’s recent 1.3 billion dollar fine for breaching anti-money laundering laws.

The penalty remains Queensland’s biggest workplace fine in history.
