The first Indigenous Senior Protective Security Officers joined the Queensland Police on Palm Island after a five-week training program earlier this month.
The training was specifically designed for the Palm Island community.
The senior officers will now work closely with other Queensland Police Service officer and have legislative powers to provide security to State Government buildings.
