Greens MP for South Brisbane Amy MacMahon has accused the State Government of hiding the extent of the social housing waitlist.
She submitted a right to information request to force the government to reveal the 2020 Social Housing Register.
Amy MacMahon said “In the midst of a recession and pandemic we know that thousands more people will be struggling with the cost of housing and now the Government wants to pretend like it’s not an issue and hide the numbers that reveal the extent of their failure on public housing.”
The Social Housing Register was released last year in September and saw a 20 per cent increase from 2018 in those waiting for social housing.
