63 international students from Japan, China, Hong Kong and Vietnam are the first cohort to touch down in Darwin since March this year.

The group will be immediately transferred from Darwin to the Howard Springs quarantine facility where they will undergo 14 days of hotel quarantine.

The Northern Territory Government arranged a deal with the Federal Government and Charles Darwin University (CDU) in September, to fly the students to Darwin with the university chartering the flight and paying for the quarantine.
