Britain offered a new citizenship route for Hong Kong citizens with a new visa offering due to the colonial agreements back in 1997.
China will not recognise British National Overseas passports held by Hong Kong residents starting from 31st of January.
The UK Government estimates about 2.9 million people and further 2.3 million dependents will be eligible to go to Britain.
