After struggling to bounce back from the three-day lockdown, the Brisbane City Council will urge Queensland’s Chief Health Officer to relax capacity restrictions in lifts.

Foot traffic in the city centre declined to about 20 percent of its pre-pandemic average in March and as of last week only reached 56 percent.

According to Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner, to combat queues and bring people back into the CBD, a change in the restrictions facing lifts should be made.
