Brisbane police officers are being relocated to Townsville to form a new repeat youth offenders task force this week.
This follows multiple incidents, including the death of Jennifer Board last week.
Assistant commissioner Brett Shafferious says nearly 80 minors on over 300 charges for property offense have been recorded this year.
The taskforce will be lead by Assistant Police Commissioner Cheryl Scanlon, head of Queensland's Security and Counter-Terrorism Command.
