Queensland’s borders have closed to New Zealand due to a COVID-19 outbreak in Auckland.

NSW, Victoria and Queensland have limited quarantine-free travel now that at least eight cases have been linked to an Auckland high school.

“Unfortunately, over the past few days New Zealand has been recording some new positive cases, which is why we are closing the border from 6pm [February 24, 2021],” said State Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young.

“Anyone who is permitted to travel to Queensland from New Zealand will be required to quarantine on arrival."

Travellers who have been in New Zealand after February 21 have been urged to get tested and isolate until they receive their results.
