Developers of the Bulimba Barracks site in Brisbane's east have asked the City Council to vary an existing masterplan to reflect a need to raise the entire site above flood level.
Developers say earthwork filling is needed to remove the risk of flood inundation and effectively manage stormwater flow across the site.
Filling the site would meet the Council's flood immunity requirements, except for the fabrication workshop area where the area's heritage prevents it being lifted.
