Concerns have been raised about an Australian defence company that signed an agreement with the United Arab Emirates to help develop a new High Tech Machine Gun in the country.
Elaine Pearson, Australia director at Human Rights Watch says they should not be engaging in joint weapons manufacturing with the UAE due to their involvement in war violations in Yemen. The Department of Defence stated they don't comment on individual export applications or permits to protect companies' commercially sensitive information and opportunities.
